Similar in principle to the outdoor 252 scheme, the Indoor Achievement Badge schemes recognise improvements in an archer's shooting ability.
However, as Indoor rounds are limited in their distances, the awards recognise an archer reaching scoring landmarks, rather than shooting at increased ranges.
The awards available for the Frostbite Badge Scheme are the same for all bowstyles, with just the starting score being dependent on each specific bow.
Longbow awards start at 100 points
Asiatics and barebow awards start at 150 points
Recurve awards start at 200 points
Compound awards start at 250 points
A recurve archer therefore couldn't apply for a 100 Frostbite badge for example, as the lowest qualifying score for recurve is 200, but once a longbow archer passes the 200 mark, they will then claim the same future badges as recurves, as they both progress through the scoring milestones.
You cannot claim for a badge at a lower score than one you have already claimed, but when you reach a new scoring milestone, enter your scoresheet as usual and remember to also claim your badge by simply writing the word "badge" next to your score.
As with the Frostbite award, the initial score for the Portsmouth Badge Scheme is dependent on the type of bow you shoot and also increases at the same rate for each new badge, regardless of bow style once each starting point is passed;
Longbow awards start at 100 points
Asiatics and barebow awards start at 150 points
Recurve awards start at 250 points
Compound awards start at 300 points
You also cannot claim for a Portsmouth badge at a lower score than one you have already achieved but as with the Frostbite above, just let the Records Officer know every time you get a better qualifying score and they'll give you your shiny prize!
