Club Equipment

Shooting

  • Shooting shall be conducted in accordance with the  Archery GB rules of shooting at all times.
  • Any infringement of the Rules of Shooting will  lead to disciplinary action being taken by the committee. 
  • Children must be accompanied by a parent/guardian  at all times. 
  • Archers should behave in a manner that does not  cause offence or annoyance

Shooting

  •  When shooting outdoors, shooting shall be  controlled by a responsible archer.  
  • Archers shall remain behind the shooting line  whilst others are still shooting.
  • Arrows shall not be placed in the bow while any  person is in front of the shooting line.

  • Bows shall only be drawn in the direction of the  target, and only from the shooting line.
  • Arrows may only be shot at the target, and at no  time should they be shot straight up in the air, or behind the shooting line.
  • Archers should not run down the field to collect  arrows, in case they  should fall and injure themselves, or trip over an arrow  in the ground.
  • Archers should walk to the targets, checking for  arrows on the ground in front of them. 
  • When shooting indoors the outside door must be  bolted, to stop people entering the hall whilst shooting is in progress.
  • Because of the layout of the hut, strict  observation of the IN and OUT doors is necessary to avoid accidents.

  •  Where any archer is using club equipment, it  should be treated with  care so that others have the benefit of that equipment  in the future.  
  • Any damage or breakages to borrowed equipment should be reported so they   can be repaired.
  • Bows should be braced using a stringer, if an  archer does not know how  to string a bow they should ask o

  • Bows should be stored with care, ensuring that the  sight is protected from damage.
  • Arrows should be withdrawn from targets as  instructed by a coach; the  archer should look behind them as they withdraw the  arrow to ensure no  one gets hurt.
